What a treat to be able to gather again and contemplate Scripture together. Candy walked us through a brief Bible overview, landing us right at the doorstep of the book of Romans, Paul’s magnum opus. She encouraged us to learn from this book’s great doctrine, but also to sink deep into arguably the most powerful aspect of Paul’s message to the church in Rome: relationship – relationship with God, on a deep & personal level for each of us.
Then we walked through Lesson One – at least part of it :) It’s hard to not get absorbed even in the first few verses of Romans with so much to learn
- about God who “called” Paul as He does each of us
- about the Gospel
- about Jesus (“descendant of David”, “declared Son of God by the Spirit of God”)
- about us. For it is T H R O U G H Jesus we are all called for “His Name’s sake” which takes us back to Genesis and all through Scripture reminding us of God’s unwavering faithfulness – and love.
“I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake and I will not remember your sins. … Because you are precious in my eyes and honored and I love you.” – Lord God Almighty via his Prophet Isaiah 43: 24, 43:4
But rather than try to go through it all, here’s the audio from our morning.
See you next week!
